Dr. Silvia Pfeiffer
Advisor

Dr. Pfeiffer is the Co-Founder and former CEO of Coviu, a telehealth software company that helped thousands of healthcare businesses offer video consultations during the COVID19 crisis. She has more than 20 years of experience with developing Web video technology at Google, Mozilla, NICTA, and CSIRO. She co-edited the standards that made video a prime citizen of the Web and underpin the likes of Netflix, YouTube, and Coviu. Dr. Pfeiffer has a PhD in computer science, a master’s degree in business management, author of two books on HTML5 video, and most recently a book for healthcare businesses to be successful with video consultations.

Sarah Howard
Advisor

Associate Professor Howard’s research focuses on the use of new technologies and data science to explore classroom practice and teacher change, specifically related to technology adoption and integration in learning. She has a particular research focus on cultural and individual factors of teachers’ digital technology use, change process and learning design related to subject areas, school culture and underlying principles of teaching and learning. Her current major projects include a national study of app use in primary schools, automating long-term low-disturbance classroom observation, and creating data and video mining methods to study the integration of digital and physical spaces in blended learning. She is an Associate Professor at the University of Wollongong and a Visiting Professor at Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
